Before an Appointment

Grooming and Dress

Always wear clean, professional-looking clothes on a Zeel appointment. Industry standards for massage attire applies here and is generally defined as black or dark-colored attire or scrubs and closed-toe shoes. Long hair should be tied back, and nails should be neatly trimmed.

Pair your top with dark-colored pants and closed-toe shoes. Long hair should be tied back, and nails should be neatly trimmed.

Always be clean and fragrance-free on a Zeel appointment. Remember to wear deodorant, skip the perfume or cologne, and definitely don’t smoke before the appointment!

Pre-Appointment Checklist

Different provider and appointment types have different equipment requirements, but these are the essentials for most in-home appointments:

  • Clean, professional clothes (especially if you're going to a Zeel appointment from another session or job!)

  • Phone charger

  • Quiet timer

  • Treatment table for massage or physical therapy

  • If performing a massage:

    • Hypoallergenic lotion, cream, or gel (be sure to ask the client if they have any allergies)

    • Commercial-free music

    • You may want to bring an extra set of sheets as a backup

Contacting Your Client

Call or text your client through the app about 60 minutes before the appointment start time. This will make a great first impression and put the client at ease—especially if it’s your first time seeing them. Use this opportunity to:

  • Introduce yourself

  • Confirm time, location, and duration of session.

  • Ask about parking or directions if needed.

  • If you call the client and he or she doesn’t pick up, leave a voicemail or text and proceed with the appointment as confirmed. Example message: "Hi, this is Jane, your Zeel massage therapist. I’ll be arriving at 8:45 pm for our 9:00 pm 60 minute Swedish massage. Please text or call me if there’s anything I should know about parking or access. I’m looking forward to working with you."
