During a Zeel@Work or Chair Event

Best practices for a great chair event:

  • If the event is labeled as a walkup and your break has not been scheduled in the app, be sure to inform your point of contact (POC) before you start the event when you will be taking your break. Don't wait for a slow time during the event—it may not happen!

  • Don't text or otherwise spend time on your phone during the event (including between sessions)

  • Minimize chatting with clients both during and between sessions

  • Tip is already included in your pay for the event, so do not solicit or accept tips

  • Do not hand out your personal business cards

  • Thoroughly clean up your treatment space when you’re done

  • Before you leave, say goodbye to the POC (or other person who greeted you when you arrived)

Session Procedures

Once you’re set up and have checked into the event in the app, tap the See Schedule button to find and interact with the event schedule. You will see the start and end times for each slot and the scheduled clients’ first name and last initial (if using Zeel’s signup link).

  • As soon as a client sits down in the chair, tap their name in the schedule, and then tap Start.

  • The Start button triggers the countdown timer in the app, which will keep you on-schedule.

  • If a client listed in a slot did not show up for their appointment, tap his or her name in the schedule, and then tap No Show.

The countdown timer can be manually adjusted using the - and + next to the time display, but defaults to a pre-configured time designed to keep you on-schedule.

NOTE: Some events are employee paid, so it is critical that you confirm that the correct employee is getting a massage. Generally, only employees scheduled in your app should receive a massage (this way we can make sure that they are charged for their massage slot)

Creating a Great Experience

Each session—even if it’s only ten minutes—has a recipient truly looking forward to it, so creating a personalized, therapeutic experience is as important as if it were a 90-minute table massage.

Before you begin, introduce yourself and conduct a brief intake:

  • Ask for pressure and focus preferences

  • Ask for areas to avoid

  • Check in mid-massage on pressure

  • Be mindful of relaxation: For employees at Zeel@Work events, their massage is a break from their day, so keep conversation to a minimum so they can fully relax.

Breaks

Providers may take one (1) break during an event of 3–5 hours and two breaks during events lasting 5 or more hours. Break length is equivalent to the length of massages in the event.

Example 1: On a 4-hour event consisting of 15-minute massages, you may take one (1) 15-minute break.

Example 2: On a 6-hour event consisting of 20-minute massages, you may take two (2) 20-minute breaks.

You can view the break times in the Appointment Details section in the app.
